QUESTIONS ABOUT DAVE DRAFFAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Just a few answers to questions you may have...

How to place a booking?
Initially, please get in touch to check my availablility on your wedding date. Assuming I am, we can discuss your requirements further either by phone, email or by visiting the studio in Carlisle.

Once you are satisfied that I am the choice for you, return a completed booking form with a £100 deposit and your wedding date will be confirmed upon receipt.

What happens if you live a distance from Cumbria or the Lakes, can we meet up?
The simple answer is yes, and I prefer to do this so we can both get a feel for how the relationship will work.

However this is not absolutely necessary as we can alternatively discuss all your requirements over the phone or via email. If you live in Cumbria or you are visiting, I would happily meet you either at your home, hotel etc or you would be more than welcome to visit me to discuss any details, view sample albums etc.
How many photo's will be taken during the wedding day?
Anywhere between 200 to 500 images. On average there will be approximately 400 images to choose from. I maintain the belief that quality beats quantity, I work hard to achieve a balance between capturing group shots, artistic portrait, bride & groom shots and random reportage shots.

What is the ratio of black & white and colour photo's?
Due to the professional grade camera equipment used, it's a choice which can be made after the event. I would however always advise on which photo's are best viewed as black and white.

What is digital rework?
Digital rework is the skill of artistically amending the original photo to reflect a required result. This has previously involved removal of an unwanted object from the background, creating black and white images with a 'splash' of colour, removing cosmetic blemishes etc.

Do you book multiple weddings on the same day?
Definitely NOT, I have a policy of only shooting one wedding per day - so you will have my undivided attention.

Do you photograph formal group shots?
I would recommend that you do have some formal group shots done, however they shouldn't be the focus of what is photographed on the day. I try to discourage spending hours photoing every possible group combination, and usually there simply isn't the time.

We'll discuss at length prior to your wedding what your best options are and by doing so, I'll be prepared on the day which will leave enough time to also concentrate on getting the just as important informal reportage shots too.

What happens in the event of staff illness?
I'm only human and this could happen, although never has in the past. However I have a network of locally based trusted professional wedding photographers who could step-in to fullfil my commitments if required.

Do you have insurance?
Yes I do. Public and employee plus indemnity cover.

Will you want feeding?
Although most clients offer, I tend to kindly decline. There's always a bit of time during the day when I can grab a bite to eat.

Do you travel outside of Cumbria?
Yes I do. My reputation via recommendation has meant that I work throughout the UK, even with the odd trip abroad.
